Rt 99 Vehicle Accident with heavy entrapment and ejection

On Thursday, March 15th at approximately 1130 a.m. Engine 474 was dispatched to the 8200 block of Edinboro Road to assist the McKean Hose Company with a 2 vehicle accident with reported heavy entrapment and ejection.

Crews members from the West Ridge IRT (Immediate Response Team) staffing Engine 474, McKean , Perry Highway, and Edinboro fire department worked to free one occupant from a vehicle while other crews treated a passenger from another vehicle that had been ejected from his car during the accident.  This same car also had its engine ejected and it was found in a wooded area across the street from the wreckage.  Both injured parties were transported to UPMC Hamot trauma center.  The P.S.P. dispatched an accident reconstruction team to investigate the cause of this collision. Fire Police from West Ridge, Edinboro Fire Department, and McKean Hose company assisted the P.S.P. with traffic control.
