Erie New Now reports on rescue tool purchase

The West Ridge Fire Dept recently purchased new rescue tools in order to keep up with the latest advances in vehicle engineering.  New vehicles are now produced using high strength steel which makes it necessary for the department to equip ourselves with extrication tools that will be able to cut and pry this newer material.  Our old extrication tools could no longer perform adequately in the many tasks that we found ourselves called upon to perform.
